Ooh La La: My Review of Afridi Inn
Afridi Inn offers good food at a great price. However, hygiene and cleanliness could be improved. With that said, it's no wonder this Karachi eatery is so popular—it offers a wide variety of cuisine options, excellent service, and friendly staff.

What we like
- The food is fantastic and reasonably priced.
- The waitstaff is attentive and goes above and beyond to make sure you're happy.
What we don’t like
- The outdoor sitting area has become dirty and uninviting.
Want to try something different for a change? How about some authentic Pashto cuisine?
Afridi Inn offers just that!
The owners believed that not only is their food delicious but that it also has substantial cultural value. The passionate team at Afridi Inn is constantly innovating new ways to make their food more enjoyable for customers. They aim to provide an authentic experience that lets people connect with Pashto culture through one of its most important aspects: food.
Not just Pashton, the restaurant also offers all the classic Pakistani dishes like Karahi, BBQ, and Namkeen Gosht.
Afridi Inn has several branches throughout Karachi, with its first branch at Clifton Block 4. The restaurant prides itself on delivering quality food at a reasonable price.
So if you’re ever in the mood for something new, be sure to check out Afridi Inn. You won’t regret it!
Food: Stamp of Approval
Afridi Inn’s menu features breakfast items such as fried eggs and bacon, as well as brunch items like warm chicken wings and portobello mushrooms. The restaurant offers grilled beef steak, roasted red potatoes, and mushroom sauce for dinner.
My family and I went for a late-night dinner to celebrate my birthday.
I immensely enjoyed the Lamb Karahi at Afridi Inn. It’s one of their signature dishes. The succulent pieces of lamb were cooked to perfection in a rich, tomatoey gravy. Absolutely delicious! If you love lamb, then the Lamb Karahi at Afridi Inn is a must-try!
Afridi Inn’s Chicken Makhni Handi was everything I hoped it would be and more. The chicken was excellently cooked, and the sauce had an exquisite richness and flavor. In addition, the spices gave it a lovely extra zing. Consequently, I will most definitely be ordering this meal again in the future!
The Afghani Boti too was masterfully done! The meat’s tenderness and the spices’ perfect measurements made for a delightful dish.
The Garlic Naan that came with it complimented the meal perfectly. Its crispy texture and perfect garlicky taste went excellently with the Afghani Boti.
Thank you Afridi Inn for such a delectable dinner!
Price: Quite Surprising

My brother and sister also came along with my parents and me. So, there were 5 of us in total. Our cumulative order was:
- Lamb Karahi: PKR 1350
- Chicken Makhni Handi: PKR 750
- Afghani Boti: PKR 700
- Garlic Naan: PKR 50
Without a doubt, the food was top-notch. Nevertheless, what I loved most was how affordable it was! In total, we paid PKR 3500 and had more than plenty of food. The servings were large and the quality was superb.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good food at a great price.
Service: Goes The Extra Mile
Afridi Inn is a restaurant that has built up a strong customer base over 20 years by always putting quality first. This also includes delivering superior customer value.
I was extremely pleased with the service.
The restaurant had a team of carefully selected and highly trained waitstaff that were constantly striving to make our dining experience as enjoyable as possible.
The waiter was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. He even brought out a complimentary birthday cake for me! It was a lovely gesture that made my birthday dinner even more special.
Ambiance: Time for Change
The Afridi Inn at Clifton was one of my favorite places to eat in Karachi. I loved the outdoor sitting area and the magnificent sea breeze blowing through.
However, since the Dolmen City Mall has been built, things have changed for the worse. The once lovely outdoor sitting area is now dirty, due to neglect from management. Additionally, the mall has blocked off most of the breezes that we used to enjoy.
The owners must pay attention to hygiene and cleanliness if they want customers to return.
Honorable Mentions: Daal Love Never Dies
Next time you’re looking for a cozy, delicious winter meal at Afridi Inn, be sure to try the Daal Mash Karahi. This hearty dish is made with yellow split peas that are simmered until soft and pureed into a thick soup.
It’s then seasoned perfectly with cumin, chili powder, and salt before being garnished with freshly chopped cilantro leaves. Not only is the Daal Mash Karahi comforting and savory, but it’s also healthy!
Final Verdict:
Afridi Inn is the place for you if you’re looking for good food at a great price. With that said, hygiene and cleanliness need to be improved. I hope management will take note of this and make the necessary changes.
Nevertheless, with a wide variety of available cuisine options, plus excellent service and friendly staff, this Karachi eatery is so popular.
