Delightful Quest: The Finest Frozen Tikka in Pakistan’s Culinary Scene

Food is a crucial part of our lives, without a doubt. It is something that we need to survive, but it is also simply so much more than that. Food is a source of comfort, a gesture to show love, and a chance to enjoy some of life’s simple pleasures. Pleasure and memories that stay with us all life long. 

For many people, tikka is the perfect food. It is simple yet so full of flavor. There is nothing quite like the smell of meat cooking on the grill, and the taste of those first few bites is truly unforgettable. Does not mean, I, a food lover, have to compromise. No, no! I am here in quest of only the sauciest, juiciest, and the most tender frozen tikka to curb all my meaty, saucy needs.

With multiple brands offering tikka in great variety, cuts, and flavors; I did get confused strolling from one lane to another at the grocery store in the frozen section. So I picked, tried and made a list of my top favorite frozen tikka available in the market. I also ranked the following based on variants available, additives information, packaging options, and availability.

Sabroso Tikka 

Sabroso tikka comes in 3 variants including shahi tikka, chicken leg tikka, and trendilicious chicken breast. It has no additives. It is not widely available.

Menu Tikka 

Menu provides 2 different offerings in tikka; tikka bites and chicken leg tikka. Although both variants are widely available, these have additives. 

K&N’s Mughlai Tikka 

K&N’s is widely available, and is free from preservatives. It is packed with a smokey, tender tikka flavor.

Monsalwa Tikka Boti 

This well-seasoned, delicious tikka boti is sadly not widely available and does contain preservatives. 

Bigbird BBQ tikka 

Bigbird provides no information about additives and is not widely available, too. It does not provide different chicken cuts.

1. Defrost and microwave one serving on chicken tikka boti.
2. Heat up a frozen paratha.
3. Spread some green chutney, and sliced onions.
4. Put your chicken tikka boti on the paratha and roll it up.
5. Eat hot or, tiffin it up for later.

Some Rice and Everything Nice

1. In a saucepan, add some oil and shallow fry some finely chopped onions and tomatoes with cumin, turmeric, chili and salt
2. Add your soaked rice, mix for a minute and add enough water to fully cook fluffy rice
3. Defrost and add Chicken Tikka leg and breast to your saucepan
4. Simmer everything together and your one pot meat is ready!
