A Secret Hideout for Ninja Warriors: A Review of China Castle
China Castle is a great spot to visit if you're looking for an exciting Chinese culinary adventure. There's something on the menu for everyone. The price was very reasonable, and the ambience was quite nice as well. However, the service could have been better.
What we like
- The price is quite reasonable
- Delicious food
- Traditional Chinese decorations and paintings
What we don’t like
- Service was not up to the mark
- The indoor seating area is small and cramped
- Vegetable pieces in the fried rice were too few
Have you ever watched a Marvel movie on opening night? The excitement you feel as you enter the theater? Then, boy, I have something special for you today. Now, I know what you’re thinking. Another Chinese restaurant? How could it possibly stand out in a city filled with endless Chinese restaurants?
Well, my friends, don’t underestimate China Castle. It’s like the lovechild of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, with a dash of Gordon Ramsay’s fiery passion. Exciting, no? But unlike a Marvel movie, you won’t have to wait for the post-credits scene to get the full story.
I’m here to give you the scoop on all the insider tips to make your China Castle experience as iconic as Tony Stark’s snarky one-liners. So, buckle up to feast like Thor on Thanksgiving. Keep reading to find out whether China Castle has managed to become the newest addition to my list of favorite restaurants in Karachi or not.
Taste: Who’s Hungry?
Well, well, well, we had some ups and downs in the food department at China Castle. It was like a rollercoaster ride with unexpected twists and turns, but it ultimately ended up being a thrilling experience.
Let’s talk about the Hot and Sour soup, shall we? On the first spoon, it tasted like the apocalypse in my mouth – worse than Jar Jar Binks’ dialogue in Star Wars Episode I. But after some brave attempts to doctor it up with extra chilies and sauces, it ended up being pretty darn good. It was like watching a bad movie but then finding a redeeming quality that makes it worth sitting through.
And when the main course arrived, the aroma was so good it was like I was in the middle of a Pixar movie, with food so enticing it had a personality of its own.
The Schezwan Chicken was hotter than the dragon fire in Game of Thrones. But in the best way possible, of course. It was like the chicken was on a mission to spice up my life. However, the gravy was drier than the Sahara desert. But I asked the kitchen to add some more gravy, and voila! It was just right.
The Vegetable Fried Rice was also good, but the negative point was that the veg pieces were as scarce as the chances of survival in a horror movie.
Price: Can I Afford to be a Foodie?
No one wants their heartfelt foodie dreams to turn into gloomy nightmares because of an empty pocket. So, how did China Castle fare in the pricing department?
The answer is simple – it was totally worth it. The price was very reasonable and didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. In fact, I’d rate the value of money at China Castle 10/10. It was like getting a superhero movie ticket for the price of fast food; what more could I ask for?
Service: The Real Showdown
Let’s be honest, the service at China Castle was nothing to write home about. With a single waiter serving six tables, it felt like we were on an underwater mission with no way out. The order took two hours to arrive, and the waiters seemed confused and frustrated with how many orders they had to fulfill.
In the end, I was pretty disappointed with the service, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying my food. After all, it was like waiting for a superhero to arrive and save the day; it’s always worth the wait!
Ambience: A Quest to Find the Castle
Situated on Alamgir Road, Main Sharfabad, China Castle had both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating area was quite nice, with plants decorating the space and some background music to liven things up. However, the indoor seating area was quite cramped, making it unsuitable for big groups.
On the plus side, there were traditional Chinese paintings and decorations to set the mood. Meanwhile, the utensils were rough, and there were spots on the plate which wasn’t a very good impression. We asked them to change it, and they did.
Honorable Mentions: The Holy Grail of Soups
Move over, Tony Stark, there’s a new winner in town, and it’s the Thai Chicken Soup at China Castle! I can guarantee you that I’m definitely going back for this soup, and if you’re smart, you will too. The balance between the soup’s sourness and spiciness was impressive, like a skilled chef performing a high-wire act.
The ginger and rice were a great combination. They were like Batman and Robin, the dynamic duo that made the soup even more sensational. But the real MVP of this soup was the green chili. It was like the Hulkbuster suit in Avengers: Age of Ultron, making the soup even more powerful and delicious.
Final Verdict
Was it worth it? I’m mixed about that! Still, I’d recommend it to all my food-loving friends any day! So, if you’re ever looking for a secret hideout to unleash your inner ninja warrior, then China Castle is the place for you. Go ahead and have yourself a feast fit for an Avenger!
