We humans are remarkable in having 5 senses that serve us to live our lives at ease – sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste! But if we wanted to enhance these senses – we use the Fitbit Sense 2!

Fitbit Sense 2 is a revolutionary device that  upgrades your senses. It is a smartwatch and health tracker that uses advanced sensors and AI to detect changes in your body, environment, and mental well-being. This fantastic device, allows you  to  monitor how your body responds to the world around it – from sleep patterns to your heart rate fluctuations – giving  an accurate picture of how your body is performing.

In this product review, we will be taking a closer look at the features of Fitbit Sense 2 and how they can help you unleash your best self.

Display and Design – Turn the Heads

Fitbit has released its newest smartwatch, the Fitbit Sense 2, boasting an elegant and 10% thinner and 27% lighter design than its predecessor. As someone who has tested and reviewed different smartwatches, I can attest to the noticeable difference when holding both versions side by side. The Sense 2 features a 1.58-inch AMOLED display that offers a bright and colorful viewing experience. I found the display easy to read indoors and outdoors, with three different brightness settings to choose from. The always-on display option is also a welcome addition, allowing you to quickly check the time without lifting your wrist.

However, I did notice a transparent border around the display’s edges. According to a Fitbit spokesperson, this border is the ECG sensor. ECG Sensor helps to indicate where to place your fingers during a scan. While this is a valuable feature, I find the transparent border to be  distracting  as it took  away from the watch’s overall aesthetic. Additionally, Fitbit replaced the shiny stainless steel ring around the display with a matte aluminum case, which is an aesthetic downgrade from the original design.

Features – Make the Most of Every Moment

As one of the popular smartwatches brands, The Fitbit Sense 2 packs a lot of features into its small frame. It has all the usual fitness tracking options you’d expect, such as steps taken, calories burned, and sleep quality monitoring. The new Fitbit OS interface is one of the main changes in the Sense 2, which makes the watch more similar to the Pixel Watch. It is understandable, considering that Google owns Fitbit now. The revamped interface is well-organized, and users can easily flick left or right from the watch face to see their daily stat screens. The screen displays a summary of the day’s stats, heart rate over the day, weather reports, and other information. Notifications are also displayed on the Sense 2’s screen, which looks great due to its size.

A dedicated button is on the side to access Sense 2’s app menu. Although the app menu contains some of the stuff you can access in the stat screens, there are a few smarter extras too. However, compared to other smartwatches in the market, the Sense 2 is less of a smartwatch due to its lack of support for third-party apps. Fitbit has discontinued support for third-party apps, including Spotify, which was available in the original Fitbit Sense. Currently, the Sense 2 has limited smart features, including wireless payments through Fitbit Pay and smart assistant support via Amazon Alexa.

Despite Google owning Fitbit, the Sense 2 only supports Alexa and has no Wi-Fi. The Sense 2 has a speaker; users can ask for something and receive a voice response with on-watch visual feedback. However, Alexa only works when connected to a phone. The Sense 2 also lacks music support; users can’t store music on the watch or control music played on a connected phone.

Operating System – The Magical Touch

The Fitbit Sense 2 runs on the Fitbit OS, which has been significantly overhauled from the previous version. The user interface is now more intuitive, and the watch is more responsive than ever before. With the Fitbit OS, you can access various fitness-tracking features, including heart rate monitoring, step counting, and sleep tracking. Additionally, you can receive notifications from your smartphone and control your mobile accessories. The new widget system is one of the most significant changes in the Fitbit OS. The widgets can now be customized, allowing you to add the ones that matter most to you.

You can see a summary of your stats, weather updates, and more, all with just a swipe of your finger. The Fitbit OS also offers a new feature called Daily Readiness, which provides personalized insights on your daily stress, recovery, and activity levels. This feature helps you understand when to push yourself and when to take a break, so you can optimize your workouts and improve your overall health.

Battery Life – Keeps Going and Going

Battery life is a crucial factor to consider when purchasing a smartwatch. The Fitbit Sense 2 has made a name for itself in the market for having one of the best battery performances among smartwatches. This feature is a significant draw for consumers who are tired of having to charge their watches every day or two.

Fitbit Sense 2’s battery life stands out amongst others. The reliable five-day battery life on a single charge, outlasts both the Pixel Watch and the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5. The Pixel Watch can only last for about 24 hours on a single charge, while the Galaxy Watch 5 and Apple Watch Series 8 can only last about 30 hours with normal use.

Fitbit claims that the battery life of the Sense 2 has not changed compared to its predecessor. However, in testing, it lasted two full days longer than its previous generation, which is an impressive achievement given its slimmer design. It charges quickly, with just 12 minutes on the charger, giving you a full day’s battery life, according to Fitbit.
