What we don’t like

  • Limited seating space

As your resident lover of all things delicious, I recently craved some decent Chinese food in Karachi. And where did I end up? None other than the Golden Dragon! Yes, I know what you’re thinking – I went full-on Kung-Fu Panda and embraced my inner Po. But hey, who can resist the allure of noodles?

As I walked in, it was everything I hoped for – red lanterns, dragon motifs, and even some traditional Chinese music in the background. It was like stepping into a scene straight out of a Jackie Chan movie! But you know what they say, you can’t judge a book by its cover, and you definitely can’t judge any restaurant in our city by its decor. So, did Golden Dragon live up to its name, or did it leave me feeling like I was on a slow boat to China? Keep reading to find out, and trust me, you don’t want to miss the juicy details.

Taste: Wow-Za

As far as the food goes, it was freaking phenomenal! To kick things off, allow me to introduce you to the unforgettable Coconut Milk Soup Prawn. From my first sip onwards, I was taken away into an exotic paradise; succulent prawns cooked flawlessly and a heavenly broth of coconut and lemongrass notes. It felt like ingesting a warm hug in every spoonful!

Subsequently, the Chicken Shashlik was nothing short of an explosion of flavors that left my taste buds in awe. The chicken had been cured to absolute perfection with savory spices boasting a delightful smoky flavor. Additionally, the crunchy vegetables and sweet pineapple made it all come together perfectly.

The Beef with Oyster Sauce was a sensational dish that left me craving more. My tastebuds sang with every morsel – succulent beef bathed in an exquisite oyster sauce. Undoubtedly one of the most umami-rich moments I’ve ever experienced! And finally, the Egg Fried Rice was the perfect complement to the other dishes. Each grain of rice was infused with the flavors of stir-fried veggies and scrambled eggs. It tied everything together in the most satisfying way.

Price: Level-Up!

Now, I know what you’re wondering – how much did all of this deliciousness cost? Well, let me tell you – Golden Dragon has some of the best prices I’ve ever seen for such high-quality food from a Chinese restaurant in Karachi

  • Coconut Milk Soup Prawn: PKR 900
  • Chicken Shashlik: PKR 700
  • Beef with Oyster Sauce: PKR 760
  • Egg Fried Rice: PKR 550

Talk about tremendous value for money! You definitely get more than what you pay for at Golden Dragon.

Service: Top-Notch

When it comes to service, Golden Dragon truly punches above its weight. The team is friendly, helpful, and always willing to help out with any queries you may have. Plus, they offer fast delivery service with no complaints. Even better, FoodPanda delivery is also available so you can get your fix of Chinese food at home. Now that’s what I call a reliable delivery service!

Ambience: Kung-Fu Flair

Located at Sunset Lane, D.H.A. Phase II, Golden Dragon is a sight to behold. It’s an ode to its Chinese roots, with traditional decorations and wooden furniture that makes you feel right at home. And the lighting? Perfectly dimmed – nothing too bright or overbearing! You can almost imagine yourself in some hidden corner of China while you’re there. Plus, the music playing in the background adds an extra layer of authenticity – like you’ve been magically transported into Chinatown!

Honorable Mentions: Sweet it Out

But wait, there’s more! I have to give a shout-out to the desserts at Golden Dragon because they were a real standout. First up, the Nutty Chocolate Wontons. They were like a cross between a chocolate truffle and a crispy wonton – a real treat. They were so good I felt like I was in the “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” movie, where every bite felt like a sinfully delicious indulgence.

And then, there were the Fried Banana Wontons. Oh my goodness, they were like a warm hug in dessert form. The bananas were perfectly ripe and sweet, and the flaky wonton wrapper added the perfect crunch – transporting me to a world of pure imagination. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on these desserts

Final Verdict

To sum it up, I highly recommend giving Golden Dragon a try. My experience at Golden Dragon was like being punched in the face with greatness! Don’t worry; there’s no need to bring your own chopsticks. Golden Dragon has got you covered. Go on and get your Bruce Lee on – Golden Dragon awaits!
