Huawei Honor 9x: Affordable Smartphone with a Great Camera

Design – Decent

Even though the design is fairly good, I am not a huge admirer. It is neither too plain nor too flamboyant. The fingerprint sensor and a little bumpy camera on the back of the phone look attractive. Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue enhance the design of the phone. I chose the gorgeous midnight black.

Display- Pretty Good

The phone has a 6.59-inches large display and I think it is a good size with a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. The aspect ratio is 19.5:9 and the pixel density is 391 ppi. The display is pretty good and I found no issues with it. The display is bright and its colors are so accurate.  

Camera- Great!

I think the camera is the best feature of this phone. It has a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48 MP(wide), an 8 MP, f/2.4, 13mm (ultrawide), and a 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth) sensor. The camera takes amazing pictures and videos. I am so impressed with its performance. 

Photography Experience

The camera takes clear and wider pictures of hills and tops, I am a traveler and I take a lot of pictures of landscapes and the Honor 9x did not disappoint me. It also has a night mode that takes great pictures in low-light conditions. The video quality is also great. It can shoot videos up to 1090p resolution at 60fps. 

Pop-Up Selfie Camera

I like that the phone has a pop-up selfie camera. It is a 16 MP camera that takes great selfies. Now, I don’t have to worry about the notch that ruins the pictures. 

Performance – Strong for the Price

Keeping its price range, the phone performs admirably. It has an octa-core processor and Kirin 710F chipset, which gives a smooth experience. However, it struggles when multitasking and playing demanding games.

Memory and RAM

The phone comes with 128GB of internal storage and 6GB RAM. I think this is more than enough for most users. But if I need more storage, I can expand it up to 512GB with a microSD card.

Battery – Impressive

It has a 4000mAh capacity that’s great for a phone at this price. In my experience, the battery lasts for more than a day with moderate use. And it charges pretty quickly as well through its type-C port.

Network & Sensors – Perfect

I have been using the Honor 9x for a few days now, and I found no issues in its network. It offers fast and latest wifi connectivity but the Bluetooth version is 4.2 which is outdated. The phone has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor that works fast and accurately. It also has an accelerometer, a gyro, a proximity sensor, and a compass.

Final Thoughts
