What we don’t like

  • No Wireless Charging
  • No 3 audio jack
  • Bit expensive

When I first heard about the Huawei P40, my initial reaction was underwhelmed. However, after using it for a while and noticing all its features and improvements over previous models in terms of both design as well functionality like camera performance/quality or interface ease-of-use, I was really impressed.

One thing that has started to appeal to me is how much better this device performs when taking photos outdoors under low light settings. This is important because oftentimes I need my phone’s sensors at their best in these scenarios.

Design and Display – Elegance In-Depth

I’m the type of person who likes compact devices. I don’t like when my phone is too big and bulky. So, when I saw the Huawei P40, I was very happy that it’s a lot more compact than other phones in its class while still maintaining a large screen size.

It has a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 2340 x 1080 resolution. It is clear as day and the colors are very accurate. It’s also super bright, which is great for outdoor use.

The design of the phone is also very glossy and modern. I love how thin it is and how the camera module doesn’t protrude from the back too much.

The phone is also IP53 water and dust-resistant. The Huawei P40 is available in four colors: Silver Frost, Blush Gold, Deep Sea Blue, Ice White, and Black. I personally like the Deep Sea Blue color because it’s different from other phones in the market.

Performance – Smooth Sailing

The Huawei P40’s performance has been great so far! After reading some reviews about how it wasn’t as snappy or fast compared to other flagship devices, I was worried.

However, after using the phone for a while nowadays there are no issues at all – Lag or stutter have never come up on this device once in spite of heavy use cases like gaming, etc.

The processor behind this beast? Octa-core with Kirin 990 chipset with 8GB Ram  and 256 GB storage space which is more than enough if you ask me.

Battery Life – All Day Long

Another thing I was worried about was the battery life. I’ve had phones in the past that would die within a few hours if I didn’t use them carefully.

But with the Huawei P40, I haven’t had any problems. The phone has a 3800mAh battery and it lasts all day long. Even if I use it heavily, I can still get through the day without having to recharge.

Network/Wireless – Fast and Reliable

I’ve been using the Huawei P40 on AT&T’s network and I’ve had no problems. The phone has been able to connect to LTE without any issues.

The wireless speeds have also been very good. I’ve been able to download apps and browse the web quickly.

Software – Android with a Twist

The Huawei P40 comes with Android 10, but it also has Huawei’s EMUI skin on top of it. I’m not a huge fan of EMUI, but it’s not too bad. It’s not as heavy-handed as other skins of mobile phones.

However, one thing I don’t like is that Huawei doesn’t have access to the Google Play Store. This means that you have to sideload apps, which can be a bit of a pain. It’s not a huge issue, but it’s something to keep in mind.

Camera – Better than Ever

The camera is one of the most important features of a phone for me. I take a lot of pictures and I want them to look great. The Huawei P40 has a triple camera setup. It has a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP telephoto sensor, and a 16MP ultrawide sensor.

The camera is fast and takes great pictures. The colors are accurate and the detail is impressive. I’ve been really happy with the camera of the Huawei P40.

Exclusive Feature – Visionary Photography

The Huawei P40 features a Leica Triple Camera system. This allows you to take stunning photos with great detail and color accuracy. The camera is also fast, so you can take pictures quickly and easily.

Final Verdict

The Huawei P40 is a great phone. It’s compact, has a great camera, and has good performance. The battery life is also excellent. The only downside is that it doesn’t have access to the Google Play Store. If you’re looking for a new phone, I would highly recommend the Huawei P40.
