Taste: Oh, Baby, this is the Real Deal

I mean, seriously, the food here was so good it had me licking my plate clean ravenously. To begin with, the Chicken Corn Soup was sensational – a perfect warm comfort on a cold night! It had an incredibly creamy sweetness from the corn that combined perfectly with succulent pieces of tender chicken.

Next up was the Chicken in Oyster Sauce, and oh my, what a dish! The chicken was tender and juicy, bathed in a luscious oyster sauce that was both savory and slightly sweet. The glaze was like a magical elixir. Loaded with tender mushrooms, crunchy water chestnuts, and crisp snow peas, I just couldn’t get enough. Every savory bite of this dish took me on a flavorful journey as hints of umami and sweetness collaborated together in perfect harmony. 

I just can’t miss out on mentioning the Egg Fried Rice. The rice was fluffy and light, each grain separate and fragrant with the aroma of sesame oil. It was studded with bits of scrambled egg, giving it a beautiful golden hue and just the right amount of salt to make it addictive.

Price: As Moderate as They Come

Let’s face it –  Chinese cuisine, in general, is priced a little high, and a real authentic Chinese meal may come a little to the expensive side. But at Imperial Court, the prices are moderate, similar to the food. Considering the portion sizes and food quality,  I’d say it’s more than worth it!

Service: Always Satisfactory

The service at Imperial Court is quite satisfactory. What I really appreciated is the high level of service and hospitality that this place has maintained through time, And the best part? They also offer food delivery through FoodPanda, so you can get your Chinese fix whenever you want.

Ambience: So-So

Located in PECHS Block 2, Imperial Court’s roadside parking can be cramped during peak hours. But don’t let that deter you from the beautifully decorated interior. The décor at Imperial Court is one of the highlights. Step inside this grandiose eatery, and let it transport you to a time long past. 

I’m pretty sure no other restaurant in Karachi can quite replicate the simplistic charm of Imperial Court. The red and white contrast gives it an elegant vibe, while the air-conditioning ensures a comfortable dining experience. The only setback is, when crowded, there isn’t enough seating or outlets for ventilation  – so things can get quite stuffy and suffocated.

Honorable Mentions: Totally on Point

Oh, and how could I forget the Beef Teriyaki? It was a star among stars, a dish that made my taste buds sing with joy. Seared to perfection, the beef had a crisp crust and a juicy, tender center. 

And the teriyaki sauce had notes of soy, ginger, and garlic, all dancing together in perfect harmony. It had just the right amount of sweetness and saltiness and paired beautifully with the savory, umami flavors of the beef. 

Final Verdict
