Slow-Smoked The Day: A Review Of Khan Saab Restaurant

Food: Up To The Mark

It was a weekend, my sister came to my home with her husband. Together we decided to go for an outdoor dinner and chose Khan Saab from our priority list to try out their traditional food. 

We were empty stomachs so we quickly ordered Mutton Karahi, Seekh Kabab, and Kabuli Pulao. 

Khn Saab has the best Mutton Karahi that was super delectable. The mutton was perfectly cooked, usually, it was not at other restaurants. The spice level of Mutton Karahi was balanced as we don’t like spicy foods.

Seekh Kabab was juicy and succulent in taste but it was a bit dry, so we had to have it with raita. Kabuli Pulao came with Kishmish and carrot toppings, the taste was perfect and the quantity of Pulao was good enough.

Price: Pricey But Worthy

Khan Saab is on the higher side, but the quality of food and ambiance they provide is worth it. You can not expect low prices from the restaurant providing quality food with a beautiful and well-maintained ambiance. We were 8 family members and the bill was around Rs.9500.

Isn’t it reasonable?

Anyway, we tried the following menu items:

• Mutton Peshawari Karahi Full: PKR 2650
• Seekh Kabab (6 Pcs): PKR 700
• Kabuli Pulao: PKR 600

Ambiance: Appealing

It feels really good when you enter a restaurant with your family and kids and see a person standing at the entrance welcoming you. He asked us a number of people and quickly arranged our seating. 

The place was super spacious, they can easily cater to a large number of groups at a time. They have a play area and rides for kids. It was a bonus for families who come along with kids. So they can enjoy food peacefully. The restaurant has great decor and a peaceful atmosphere. There is no better option than Khan Saab to enjoy quality food with a good ambiance.

Service: Rewarding

We went on a weekend, and the restaurant was full but no doubt their service was satisfactory. The order was taken promptly and we were served fresh and hot food within half an hour. But when we needed more Naan, we had to call the waiter many times. This might be due to the weekend but this factor can be ignored as it happens at every restaurant on weekends.

Gentry: Superior 

The gentry at khan Saab was diverse. I could see how the families, couples, and group of friends enjoyed their food. It is the best place for corporate dinners and meetings.

Honorary Mention: Own Choice

Every Meal at khan Saab is special as they have experienced chefs who cooked delicious food. But if you are in the mood to try more dishes then I would recommend you the following:

• Chicken Balochi Tikka Karahi
• Red Tikka
• Afghani Boti

Final Verdict:

To sum up: Khan Saab was really a lovely place to enjoy dinner in the open-air environment. The restaurant was much tidier than most of the highway restaurants.
