Zauq-e-Irani: A Review of New Chullu Subhani Restaurant

Today, I’m sharing my mouth-watering experience at the legendary New Chullu Subhani Restaurant, also known as Chullu Kabab Sistani. Let me tell you, this place has been dishing out desi and Persian delights since the ’90s, and it’s still going strong like a Punjabi dhol!

As soon as I stepped inside, the fragrance of succulent kebabs, aromatic biryanis, and mouth-watering curries made me feel like I was in heaven. 

It was like the aroma was performing a qawwali in my nose, and my taste buds were the enthusiastic audience. Trust me, once you try their food, you’ll say “Aalla!”  with every bite. 

So, grab a napkin and get ready to wipe the drool off your face because it’s time to feast like a sultan at New Chullu Subhani Restaurant!

Taste: A Piece of Heaven on a Skewer

The food here is one of the best in the city!

Oh, the Chullu Kabab! The name alone makes my mouth water like a river flowing through Kashmir. 

As I took my first bite, the tender meat simply melted in my mouth, like butter on a hot naan. The blend of aromatic herbs and spices, like coriander, cumin, and garam masala, left my taste buds singing joyfully. The meat was so juicy that it felt like a monsoon rain on an arid desert.

The Chullu Kabab is truly a feast fit for a Nawab. The kabab was perfectly charred on the outside, adding a smoky flavor that complemented the rich, savory meat.

I could taste the pride and skill of the chef in every bite of the Chullu Kabab. If you haven’t tried the Chullu Kabab yet, you’re missing out on a culinary masterpiece. 

Price: Affordable as Ever

The service at New Chullu Subhani Restaurant is alright. 

The staff is eager to assist, know their menu inside out, and provide helpful recommendations on dishes that suit your taste buds. I love how they take the time to explain each dish and its ingredients in detail.

However, the speed of service could be improved as it can sometimes get a bit slow. But other than that, it’s an excellent experience.

Ambience: The Taste of Nostalgia

Located at Dr. Daud Pota Road, Saddar, New Chullu Subhani Restaurant has a lovely family environment. The restaurant is not very lavish but clean and well-maintained with wooden furniture and colorful decorations. The separate family halls are nice, airy, and spacious.

The restaurant is clean and brightly lit. It’s also spacious, so you don’t have to worry about bumping into people while enjoying your meal.

Honorable Mentions: Barbecued Beauties

Rejoice, meat lovers! There’s a strong case for me to declare New Chullu Subhani Restaurant as one of the best BBQ restaurants in town.

You’ll be drowning in an abundance of kebabs and tikkas. There’s something for everyone here: from Bihari Boti to Seekh Kabab to Reshmi Kabab.

To be fair, the restaurant also offers Chinese and Seafood. But it’s better to stick to the traditional desi and Persian cuisines. Still, it’s up to you if you want to try it!
