Reviewing Nokia 7.2: Beautiful Design
This phone is a mid-range wonder that looks great and has a superb camera and display. The only downside? It doesn't come with the kind of long battery juice you'd expect from such an impressive device.

What we like
- Excellent build quality
- Bright display
- Pure Android One software
What we don’t like
- Tinny speakers
- Underwhelming cameras
- Average battery life
Nokia, which was once the industry leader in mobile manufacturing, has evolved differently, it has two technological eras, which are the pre-iPhone era and the post-iPhone era. They have been working in the mobile market for a long time.
They introduced their smartphones with Windows, but iOS and Android got popular among the general population due to simplicity and usability. Their wild move ended badly and now they have shifted towards Android phones.
This time around, Nokia has introduced its new smartphone, which is C-7.2. This is a budget option for people looking for their basic phone.
This phone caters to all the basic needs of Android phone users. It fulfills all the basic requirements of a phone. Sadly, this phone doesn’t stand out, so let’s discuss more about this cell phone in detail.
Design-Beautiful
This has a very premium design. The design is simple yet elegant. The phone doesn’t look cheap by any means when it comes to the design of this phone. It is a relatively old release but still, it has a design to compete today.
Nokia C 7.2 is a premium-looking phone with a plastic frame and glass front and back. Both front and back are made out of Gorilla Glass 3. This phone comes in three color schemes which are Ice, Charcoal, and Cyan Green.
This cell phone weighs around 180g which is not on the heavier side. It looks premium but it still carries the DNA of Nokia cell phones. That’s why it has prominent bezels on the front. The bezels are not very pleasing and look odd; the bezel on the bottom of the screen is the most prominent one.
The front camera is situated at the top, captured inside a U-shaped notch. Earpiece is placed at the top, just above the camera. The sides of the phone have a little curviness to them to provide a firm grip when a user uses this cell phone.
The main camera and fingerprint scanner is located at the back. The camera has been dragged into the middle of the phone. This is not a very new design; we have already seen different mobile manufacturers doing this.
The fingerprint scanner is once again placed at a very inconvenient position, right below the camera. This position is sometimes hard to access when you are using the phone with one hand.
Beautiful Display
This comes packed with a 6.3 inches IPS LCD display. Yes, I know this is an outdated display. Still, the display size is huge and it would be a good display to use.
The huge display has 400 pixels per inch resolution, which is a very good resolution quality, and it would provide the display with great color contrast, saturation, and vibrancy. The text and images would look sharp on this screen. The screen-to-body ratio on this phone is above 80%, 82% to be precise.
The screen would provide a clear display when used indoors but I am not sure if it would be a good display to use outdoors. We are seeing very hot displays on phones. For example, Samsung is using AMOLED panels, Apple is calling it a Retina HD display while we are still stuck with this IPS LCD panel.
These advancements demand changes with time, but if you stick to something from the past you will be left out. The same thing happened to Nokia when they were the prime mobile manufacturer with a ratio of 51% market share. What went wrong is that they continued to do everything their own way without thinking about anything else, if they didn’t want this to happen to them again, they would have to look out for any changes and advancements.
I personally don’t hate IPS LCD panels but I think this time demands the latest technology. This is not a very budget-friendly phone, it comes at a solid price point. So, the least we could expect from Nokia is to provide the latest technology as provided by competitors. Now, it would be a wish for the future.
How does this Phone Perform?
This has a good RAM offering which is from 4 to 6 GB. You can get any model of your choice. I think this is a good offer and you wouldn’t have any problem with the RAM of this phone.
If you do a lot of heavy tasks, multitasking, and use heavy applications, I would recommend you to get the 6GB model but if you are a normal user you can go with the 4GB RAM model of this as well.
This phone comes with two types of chipsets; Qualcomm SDM660 and Snapdragon 660. Both of these chipsets are good and I think it would be a pleasant experience to use any of these chipset.
The animations on this phone look fine. It has a good color contrast and doesn’t give away any kind of cheap look. The response of the phone to my interactions was almost timely and I think it would perform well for the next few coming years.
I have personally tested out the 6GB version of this phone and I would say it is a safe choice for you to buy as I didn’t feel any big lag while using it. I can not pass judgment about the lower RAM model, but I think they would do fine, too if not well.
I am not a heavy gamer, but sometimes I do play games when I get bored. This phone proves to perform well during gaming and I didn’t feel many lags and hangs. I think it downgraded a little bit of frames but the gameplay was still a smooth experience.
Old Android Version
This phone comes with the Android 9.0 Pie version. I think this should be acceptable in this phone as this is an old version. It came out in 2019, so this software is fine.
What I don’t like about this phone is that it doesn’t give the support to update to the latest Android version 12. It would have been good if Nokia could have at least done that.
Round Shaped Camera
The main back camera has now been dragged to the middle. It has three lenses. The main lens is a 48MP lens, while the second is an ultrawide 8 MP lens, and the third one is a 5MP depth sensor. The camera produces images of good quality. You wouldn’t feel that you are using a cheap-end phone by looking at its image quality.
The pictures produced by the camera have a very good color balance. These images are crisp and vibrant, and the hue-shade balance is good as well. One thing I felt should have been provided is the night mode. I don’t like the quality of the images during low light; it seems like all the magic of this camera fades away when there is low light.
The back camera is capable of recording videos in very good quality. It is capable of recording in 4k, 1080p at 30 frames per second. It has gyro support as well. The videos recorded by this camera look good and I have personally used some of the clips recorded by this phone in my vlogs.
The front camera has a 20 MP lens. The camera of this phone would be good enough to capture your selfies and videos. This camera can record at 1080p, which is a good offering considering the price point at which this phone is offered. Although, sometimes, this camera fails to amaze, and the picture looks too bright.
Just Good Battery
This phone offers very good overall features, which are very useful in daily usage, but one area where I think it doesn’t come across my expectations would be the battery of this phone. This phone comes only with a 3500 mAh battery.
The battery of this phone wouldn’t be good if you do gaming. It is going to get low so fast that you will regret your decision to buy this phone. Just because this phone has an IPS LCD panel which doesn’t consume a lot of power, it still does just fine; otherwise; you would have to carry a power bank with you all the time if it had the AMOLED display.
This phone supports wireless charging, which is a very good feature. Most of the time, I just put my phone on my Car’s wireless charging panel, which charges my phone during my trip. It is a very practical feature for me and I think every phone should come equipped with it in this time of technological advancements.
The most annoying feature for me is its slow charging because you remain patient after successfully draining your phone’s battery. It will take a good amount of time to charge my phone back, which gets very annoying. I think this phone should have offered a fast charging feature even if it increased the cost of this phone slightly.

Final Word
So, if you ask my opinion on this phone I would say this phone is a good choice. It performs well even today while we all know it is an old release. There are options in the market and this phone competes with them at many levels.
But if you can afford to pay a little more than the price of this phone, I can tell you that your choices would increase significantly, and some of these options are excellent and well worth your money. You can get a decent phone which does well in every area.
