What we don’t like

  • Without any gorilla glass protection.
  • USB power sharing is not possible.

Interested in a nostalgic Nokia phone?

The Nokia G50 is a marvelous mid-range smartphone that delivers incredible performance with 5G speeds and a stylish design.

I love this phone’s speed, ease of use, and sleek design with a large screen.

Let’s dive in and take a closer look at all the features of the Nokia G50.

Design & Build

  • Bulky build.
  • 173.8 x 77.7 x 8.9 mm dimensions.
  • Premium materials.

This phone has a stunning design and high-quality build, making it stand out from other mid-range smartphones. I love the metal frame and soft-touch, curved plastic rear cover, which feels great in my hand.

One of the best things about this phone is that I don’t need to buy a case or screen protector – it has a surprisingly durable build that easily withstands bumps and drops. But I never preferred using my phone without protectors.

Colors

The phone comes in two stunning colors, midnight sun, and ocean blue. I’m a huge fan of ocean blue – the vibrant color is eye-catching and pops on the large screen. The midnight sun color option is also great, which is more understated and classy.

Display & Screen –  Endless Screen:

  • 6.82-inches IPS LCD.
  • 16M Colors.
  • 450 nits Bright.

Gamers need a large screen to enjoy what they do, and here Nokia provides a large screen, which is perfect for watching videos and playing games. The display has crisp colors and great viewing angles, making it easy to see in any lighting condition. Plus, with 16 million colors and 450 nits brightness, I can easily use my phone outdoors without worrying about glare or reflections.

Camera – 48 MP Main Camera:

  • Triple Rear Camera.
  • 5 MP Ultrawide Camera.
  • 8 MP Selfie Camera.

The Nokia G50 has a 48 MP triple camera that offers incredible versatility and performance. The triple camera setup includes a wide-angle lens, ultra-wide angle lens, and depth sensor for amazing photographic options.

Photography Experience

The photos I took were vibrant and life-like, offering realistic tones without fumbling with settings or filters. I especially liked the 5 MP ultra-wide camera, which gives me a huge field of view and allows me to capture more effortlessly in one shot.

Selfie Camera

The 8 MP selfie camera is also amazing, with crisp detail and bright colors that make my selfies stand out. And with some Snapchat filters, selfies became more relevant and colorful, and I can record videos of up to 1080p at 30fps.

Performance – Fast & Smooth

  • Snapdragon 480 5G (8 nm)
  • 6 GB RAM.
  • 128 GB ROM.

This phone is a powerhouse regarding performance, thanks to its Snapdragon 665 chipset and plenty of RAM for seamless multitasking and gaming. I can switch apps quickly, and scrolling through my social media apps is smooth and responsive. And, with 5G speeds, my downloads are lightning-fast – I can download movies in seconds!

Performance Test

I ran many apps to check if the phone could withstand or start lagging. Surprisingly, I didn’t feel any lag, and everything worked smoothly. And games like PUBG and COD Mobile ran perfectly without glitches or crashes. But if my sole purpose is gaming, I won’t go for it because competitors are doing better in this price range.

Battery – Eat, Sleep, Play, Repeat

  • Li-Po 5000 mAh.
  • 18W wired charging.

I’m always on the go, so I need a phone with stunning battery life. The 5000 mAh battery on this phone amazed me – it can easily last me more than one full day without charging. And when it’s time to charge up, the 18W wired charging ensures that my phone is fully charged quickly. If used moderately, the battery lasts for at least two days.

Network – Never Offline

  • Dual-SIM (dual stand-by).
  • 5g and 4g VoLTE.
  • USB Type-C 2.0.
  • NFC.

I’m often traveling, and on the go, so a phone with great network connectivity is important to me. The Nokia G50 offers full 4G LTE capabilities, allowing me to access fast data anywhere, at home or abroad. And with dual-SIM capability, I can easily switch between networks without worrying about losing calls or texts.

The NFC and USB Type-C 2.0 are other great features that make my life easier. I can quickly and securely pay for things, transfer files, or connect to other devices with a tap.

Sensors – Find your Way

  • Fingerprint (side-mounted).
  • Accelerometer.
  • Gyro.

With a plethora of sensors and features, such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and compass, I feel fully connected to my phone at all times. And with fingerprint security built in, my data is always safe and secure. Gyro is quite accurate and helps a lot to withstand intense gaming sessions.
