As a self-proclaimed foodie, I’ve eaten my fair share of Chinese cuisine, but nothing could prepare me for the mouthwatering feast I experienced at Royal Ice & Spice – the hub of Chinese khana with a desi tarka. 

Located at SMCHS, Royal Ice & Spice is a sone pe suhaaga for those who crave the best of both worlds – the masala of desi cuisine and the subtle and fragrant nuances of Chinese cuisine. 

This fusion of two distinct cuisines is a jugalbandi of flavors that will leave your taste buds dancing in delight.

Taste: Khao Aur Khush Raho

From the moment you peek at their menu, your hunger pangs will go into overdrive. And once you sink your teeth into their dishes, it’ll be like a cannon ball exploding in your mouth.

To kick things off, I started with a piping hot bowl of Hot n Sour Soup. It had just the right balance of heat and tang, with a rich, savory broth loaded with fresh vegetables and tender chunks of chicken. It was like a warm, comforting hug for my taste buds on a chilly day.

Moving on to the main course, I first decided to try the Chicken Jalfrezi. It was a fragrant and spicy dish, with tender pieces of chicken coated in a rich, tomato-based sauce loaded with peppers and onions. The flavors were bold and vibrant, with a hint of smokiness that added a delicious depth to the dish.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the Chicken Masala Broast took things to a whole new level of deliciousness. The chicken was juicy and succulent, with a crispy, golden-brown coating. It was like biting into a flavor explosion that left me wanting more with every bite.

To wash it all down, I tried the Mint Lychee drink. The refreshing mint perfectly balanced the sweetness of the lychee puree, and when blended with 7Up, it was a ‘carbonated concoction of pure delight’ that I couldn’t get enough of.

One of the best things about Royal Ice & Spice is that their prices are easily affordable. 

With a wide range of dishes starting from just Rs. 150, it’s no surprise that this place has become a go-to spot for budget-friendly meals.

Service: Needs Work

We were appalled by the poor service we received upon ordering drinks for our meal. After finishing our meals, the cold drinks still hadn’t arrived! 

And to make matters worse, when mentioning this issue to their floor manager, he was unconcerned. In addition, it proved challenging to find a parking spot despite free parking lots and garages available nearby. 

Thankfully, Royal Ice & Spice offers FoodPanda delivery, so it’s possible to have great food without the hassle of sub-par service.

Ambience: Chalo, Enjoy Karein 

Royal Ice & Spice has a spacious seating area with cozy corners for intimate dinners and small tables for family gatherings. 

The atmosphere is modern, with a touch of classic decor, but the seating arrangements can be pretty congested – especially during rush hour in the scorching summer heat. 

Fortunately, there is a family hall on the first floor with air conditioning for an escape from the sweltering weather outside.

No matter where you go, don’t forget to take some delicious desi flavors along. From succulent and juicy kebabs to sizzling karahis to creamy handis, everything’s delicious!
