What we don’t like

  • Sluggish performance

Samsung has done really well in the phone segment for quite a few years now. Their A- series is getting people’s attention and is doing amazing in the consumer market.

Now, A20s has made its way into the market. This phone is good for daily usage and comes at a cheaper price tag compared to other A-series phones. This phone is designed for people with a low budget. This series is specially designed to target the SEC B and C market, which has been untapped for a long time.

Beautiful Elegant Design

This phone comes in many amazing colors. It has a shiny back made out of plastic. The back will be a fingerprint magnet and you have to put a case all the time to keep your phone clean.

This is basically a low category or more of a starter phone. It has a USB-C charging option, thanks to Samsung. This feature was missed out on A10 and A10s and is welcomed by Samsung’s users this year. Besides an audio jack, there is a speaker grill to satisfy your music needs.

Low-end Display

This year Samsung has downgraded its display to IPS display from an OLED display. This phone houses a 6.5 inch Big display. I am sure you wouldn’t have any problem while looking through this screen.

Samsung the front display design is a V infinity display. It is basically a notch, it has the front selfie camera locked inside, and above it sits the earpiece.

The visibility is not an issue on this device. It works well in indoor lightning conditions or outdoors. You will have good vision while using this phone. However, the problem arises when you use your phone for gaming or movies. The phone dulls the color of the screen when you start a game, so sorry, gamers community, you wouldn’t find it enjoyable.

How is this phone performance wise?

This phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon with 3GB RAM. The ROM is expandable, which can be expanded to 1 TB.

When I was using this phone it worked fine in mid-to-heavy tasks. However, when I use this phone for heavy taskings like PUBG and Subway surfers it starts lagging during the app switching. So, I wouldn’t recommend this phone for gaming to anyone. The frame rate significantly drops when you switch through heavy games.

The phone also offers a fingerprint reader at the back. Well, I have some reservations regarding the design and placement of this fingerprint reader. It is not easily accessible for people with short hands and is not the fastest.

How’s the battery on this phone?

Housing a 4000 mAh battery inside, I didn’t expect anything less than a day of battery backup. To my surprise, it did really well and gave me almost one and a half days of backup on normal usage. Considering the price and the low category phone I think it did really well.

Good Software

This phone has One UI 1.1, and Android 9.0. Samsung has really put in its efforts to increase the visibility of its smartphones. This phone has some good contrast of colors, sharpness, and you won’t miss out on any information using this phone.

The One UI has some cool themes to offer as well. It makes the outlook of your phone interesting.

Triple Camera at the back

This phone has a 3 camera setup placed vertically at the back. It has a basic 13 MP primary camera, with 8 MP ultra-wide and a 5 MP depth sensor. The camera on this device captures the true colors and doesn’t adjust things for you. Although, this phone does have some pretty cool filters and moods to choose from.

Best For:

4000 mAh

About the Brand:
Samsung is a leading tech company, manufacturing smartphones, accessories and kitchen & home appliances. It is considered as one of the most premium brands.

Final Word

This is an entry-level phone. It does all the basic functions well. It has a large screen with good color distribution. It starts lagging when you do heavy tasking, which is fine if we look at the price tag this phone is coming at.

This phone is a good choice for people having a limited budget. It offers a beautiful design.
