A Taste of Home: Review of Special Salateen Restaurant

I was feeling homesick the other day. I missed the taste of home cooking. So, I decided to go to a Special Salateen Restaurant. 

The moment I stepped into the restaurant, I felt transported back home. The delicious smell of food immediately made my mouth water. I ordered the Dumba Karahi and it tasted like my mom’s cooking! I was happy to find a place that reminded me of home. 

Situated on the Marine Promenade in Block 2 of Clifton, this unassuming little eatery is about as close as you can get to a taste of home. It has a beautiful view of the sea. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual, and the service is excellent.

Upon entering, the beautiful smell of spices wafting through the air is the first thing that strikes you. The extensive menu covers all the bases, from chicken and lamb dishes to vegetarian fare. But what sets this place apart are the superbly fresh ingredients and expert cooking.

Food: Feels Home-Cooked

As we were all in town at once, I went along with my brother and sister. To put it plainly – we were blown away!

There are so many amazing things on the menu at Special Salateen Restaurant, but if you’re looking for something extraordinary, you must try the Malai Boti. This dish is incredible, and it’s one of my personal favorites.

Another great dish to try is the Dumba Karahi. It’s simple but so flavourful, and it’s cooked to perfection. 

No matter what you order, you’re sure to be blown away by the flavors and textures. The Chicken Bihari Tikka, for instance, is melt-in-your-mouth tender and infused with just the right amount of spices. The Mutton Makhni Handi, on the other hand, is a heavenly mix of succulent meat and rich, creamy sauce.

And then there are the desserts. The Gulab Jamun here is some of the best I’ve ever had – light, fluffy, and dripping with syrup. The Kulfa is also excellent, and I highly recommend trying it if you have a sweet tooth.

The prices at Special Salateen Restaurant are very reasonable. This makes it an affordable option for those looking for a delicious meal. The generous portions make it an excellent choice for solo diners and large groups.

Service: Really Efficient

I was really impressed with how quickly our food arrived, considering how busy the restaurant was. This shows that the staff here know what they’re doing.

Ambiance: Simple 

The restaurant is not too fancy, but it’s clean, comfortable, and casual.

Honorable Mentions: Something For Everyone

The Finger Fish is a great option if you’re looking for something light. It’s healthy but delicious, making for a perfect starter or side dish.

The Kabuli Pulao is also a fantastic choice – it’s packed with flavor.
