Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and rightly so, since it provides the body and brain with the energy and nutrients needed to power through the day. 

However, not all breakfasts are created equal; some are healthier than others. 

I love trying new breakfast options now and then, but I always return to the comforting waffles and syrups. Not just that, syrups are very versatile. 

So whether I am making french toast or pancakes, a little dash of syrups makes everything extra sweet.  And if you are like me, who loves all things sweet, then you would be happy to know that I have found some of the best syrups available in Pakistan.

The Syrup Review

Salman’s Toppings

Salman’s toppings provide a wide range of flavors; Chocolate, Caramel, Coffee, Strawberry, and blueberry. The brand does not provide any information on gluten-free or vegan-friendly although being local products, these are more inexpensive than other available options.

Salman’s Chocolate, Caramel, and Coffee flavors are delicious, yet easy on pockets and widely available. The blueberry flavor is sometimes hard to find; however, it is a great pick to notch up bland dull ice creams, faloodas, and even limkas.

American Garden Syrup

American Garden syrups come in 4 different flavors; caramel, chocolate, strawberry, and pancake. It is gluten-friendly and vegetarian, so I do not have to worry about my picky friends falling sick.

American Garden’s Pancake syrup has 2% maple syrup included, giving it sweet flavoring and a perfect delight to drizzle over waffles, or fruit bowls.

American Garden’s Strawberry syrup is a yummy topping to level up any dull, bland ice cream. Surely the adventure does not end here; drip , some freshly made crepes or waffles, and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s a dessert date!

Next up, American Garden’s Caramel and Chocolate syrups are a great way to add a pinch of sweetness to lattes, or hot chocolate. It adds a depth of flavors without a synthetic taste.

Hershey’s Syrups

Hershey’s syrups is by far the yummiest, and creamiest chocolate syrup I have tried. It is expensive, and not widely available; however, totally worth searching for or spending some extra bucks on.

The strawberry flavor is vegan, as well as dairy-free. However, the chocolate flavoring contains skim milk, which is neither vegan nor dairy-free.

Things I Look for Before Buying My Refill of Syrups

Packaging Options

I like to look for eco-friendly options however, all mentioned brands provide non-biodegradable packaging. If in the future, a brand comes up with glass packaging, I would definitely give it a try.

Flavorings

The more, the merrier, which is very true in this case. I like to explore different flavor options, and with a wide range of flavors, I can possibly find one for everyone by mixing and matching different flavors. 

Price Value for Money

The mentioned imported brands cost more than the local ones available and are also not widely available. I prefer getting my hands on local ones since it provides delicious taste without compromising on quality and is not very pricey as well.
