Review of Tecno Spark 8C

The Tecno Spark 8C has a lackluster performance in addition to an ordinary camera. This leaves a not-so-good impression. Also, the phone is very delicate and easily breakable. The only good thing about this phone is its long-lasting battery life.

The Tecno Spark 8C phone doesn’t meet the level of other entry-level low-budget phones. I tested the phone for its performance, battery, display, operating system, and camera. Not entirely pleased!

But the phone does have one superb feature. Want to know what it is?

Check out below!

Design – Durability is Not its Forte

When it comes to the Tecno Spark 8C, you should know a few things. First off, it’s a budget phone. That means it will not have all of the glittery aspects of a more expensive phone. But that’s fine! Manageable even. It’s still a great phone, nonetheless.

Tecno Spark 8C has a beautiful body. One that is not just easy on the eyes but also feels nice while holding it. The phone has a glass front, plastic frame, and plastic back.

However, I found out a little too late that the phone doesn’t have any sort of Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The phone is prone to breaking.

Be careful not to drop it. It’s not the most durable phone out there. But that’s expected from a Tecno phone. Durability is not what they focus on.

Getting a phone case is recommended, just to be safe.

Performance – Lackluster

Tecno Spark 8C is a budget phone that doesn’t live up to its label. It’s not a bad phone, but it’s not great either.

The performance is lackluster and the gaming experience is poor. It’s a cheap phone that can do basic tasks. The phone is average for casual gaming and everyday use.

However, it is not recommended for heavy gaming or multitasking as it tends to lag a lot. The phone has to be used with great care to prevent it from slowing down.

If you’re looking for a phone that can do more, you’ll be better off spending your money elsewhere.

Battery Life – All Day Long

The Tecno Spark 8C has a long-lasting battery that will keep going all day. But there is a negative point about the battery that was only found out on a particularly bad day. The phone doesn’t have a fast-charging option.

Since that support is missing, I had to worry quite a lot about the phone dying in the middle of the day. Patience is required when waiting for it to charge up.

Software – Solid Improvements

I know, I know. The latest Android 12 OS is missing. But trust me, Android 11 is still a great operating system. It has all the features in Android 10, plus a few new ones.

Particularly liked the new screen recording option. This feature is present as a stock tool. It was easy to record sound from my device. There is also the option to record from the notifications tile to make the process much quicker.

And it’s got HiOS 7.6 support, which is really amazing. This gives it custom UI support, making it one of the best options in the market.

Camera – Nothing Amazing

Tecno Spark 8C camera is nothing to particularly marvel at.

It’s not the best camera out there, but it’s not the worst either. It does not have the best pixel quality. Still, it’s decent for an entry-level smartphone.

The QVGA performance is average, but it’s still better than other cameras. I found the f/1.8 aperture serviceable for taking good low-light photos.

As a fan of photography, a 27mm wide-angle lens was also an added bonus. It is great for landscape shots.

Best For:
Full Day Usage

Li-Po 5000 mAh

About the Brand:
Tecno is one of the leading tech companies, manufacturing mobile phones, and accessories. It is considered one of the most affordable brands in Pakistan.

Final Word

As an entry-level low-budget phone, Tecno Spark 8C misses the mark based on its lackluster performance. Furthermore, the camera is also quite ordinary and doesn’t help to make my opinion any more positive.

The battery is the only saving grace but even that cannot overcome the weak durability of the phone.

There are much better options available in the market. Try them out!
