What we don’t like

I was excited to try the Vivo Y02s because it offers a 5000 mAh battery and a premium-looking design and structure, all at an affordable price.
The phone is light and comfortable to hold, despite its large size. The screen is bright and clear, and the camera takes excellent pictures.
Perhaps most impressive is the battery life; with moderate use, I could get two full days out of the phone before needing to recharge it.
Read the review until the end to get the best knowledge about Vivo Y02s.
Design and Build – The Perfect Curve
The Vivo Y02s comes with a 6.51-inch display, giving it a decent screen size for its price range. The colors are vivid, and the resolution is good; I was pleasantly surprised at how clear videos and photos looked on this phone.
The back of the device is covered in a beautiful glass-like texture, which gives it a premium feel. The blue shade is vibrant and lively, with a dancing wave pattern that adds to the overall aesthetic.
The phone has a smooth and slim design that makes it comfortable to hold in my hand. It’s also surprisingly light for its size.
Performance – Driven by the Core
A budget phone has great performance, handling simple tasks such as browsing social media, watching videos, and using multiple apps at once.
When you use heavier apps or try to do too many things at once, it quickly over exhausts the phone, making it slow and difficult to operate. Even having a lot of notifications can cause problems with how the phone works, but this is normal for cheaper phones.
The Y02s is good for gaming, but expect to avoid playing heavy games like COD: M or Asphalt 9: Legend. Lighter games such as Real cricket or subway surfers will work fine at lower settings but with longer than average loading times and some lag during heavy moments.
Battery Life – An Exciting Day
The Vivo Y02s features a 5000 mAh battery, which is huge for a budget phone. This means you can use it all day without worrying about running out of power. I could get two full days on moderate usage before needing to charge the device again.
This makes the Y02s great for people who are always on the go, as you won’t have to worry about charging your phone multiple times a day.
Network/Wireless – Gets you Connected
I tested the phone’s network and wireless capabilities, and they performed well. The 4G LTE connection was stable, with good reception in indoor and outdoor locations.
The Wi-Fi connection also worked well; I had no problems streaming videos or browsing websites on my home network. Bluetooth worked as expected, too, connecting to wireless speakers without any issues.
Software – Easy Share
The Vivo Y02s comes preinstalled with Android 12 and the Funtouch OS 12 overlay. This a surprising addition, as most other phones that cost a similar price only run some version of Android 10 or 11.
I prefer Funtouch OS 12 because it’s clean and customizable; however, it has the same issue as other phone overlays in that there’s a lot of bloatware that I can’t disable or delete.
Consequently, this significant amount of useless apps take up storage space and affect performance- which budget phone users are especially keen on avoiding.
Camera – Get Creative
The Vivo Y02s has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. Although the main camera takes pictures with good detail for its price, the colors are pale, and there is no HDR, so murky details appear in darker places of photos. Also, it struggles with graininess- especially in low light conditions- but thankfully, the default camera software comes with a night mode.
The 5MP front camera does quite well, taking sharp pictures in good lighting conditions and respectable ones when indoor lighting is less than ideal. Surprisingly, the front camera might even take better photos than the rear camera under some circumstances. Even though both cameras can record 1080p video footage, the app default lowers the resolution to 720p.
Exclusive Feature – Large Battery
The Vivo Y02s has a few exclusive features, such as the Super Battery Saver mode, which helps increase battery life. This feature closes down the background applications and lowers the screen brightness. It also has an AI app selector that intelligently decides which apps to close or keep running based on your usage patterns.
Finally, there’s the dedicated Game Mode that allows you to customize the performance settings of any game, so you can get the best experience while playing. This feature is especially useful if you’re a casual gamer and want to maximize battery life while playing your favorite mobile games.

Final Word
The Vivo Y02s is a great option for budget-conscious buyers who need a reliable phone that won’t die halfway through the day. It has long battery life, good network and wireless reception, decent cameras, and exclusive features like Super Battery Saver Mode. The only downside is the significant amount of bloatware that can’t be disabled or removed, which might be a dealbreaker for some.
Plus, with its sleek design and vibrant color options, you’ll look great while using it too! So if you’re in the market for an affordable phone with great battery life, then the Vivo Y02s are worth considering.
